Greetings,

We’re excited to share A Different World Services’ August 2026 Activity Calendar, filled with engaging opportunities for learning, recreation, wellness, cultural exploration, and meaningful community involvement.

Throughout August, participants will continue enjoying favorite activities such as volunteering with Meals on Wheels, library visits, fitness sessions abat Gold’s Gym, roller skating at Skateland Ashland, arts and crafts, community outings, shopping trips, and exciting adventures throughout Virginia.

This month’s calendar also features a variety of unique experiences, including visits to the Virginia Living Museum, botanical garden, Fun Land Fredericksburg, Go-Karts in Williamsburg, a petting zoo, along with National Waffle Day, musical therapy, field day activities, community socials, and our ongoing ADW Podcast. Participants will also explore the rich cultures and traditions of the Pacific region through our monthly Culture Celebrations, featuring Hawaii, Guam, New Zealand, and Samoa. These experiences encourage cultural appreciation, learning, and meaningful connections with diverse communities from across the Pacific.

We are also excited to celebrate birthdays during our Birthday Social at the end of the month, creating even more opportunities for friendship, fun, and lasting memories together.

We look forward to another wonderful month of learning, exploration, friendship, and community participation together!

Please Note: Day Support will be closed on Thursday, August 20, 2026, for our ADW Staff Training Day. 

This dedicated training allows our team to continue strengthening their knowledge and skills so we can provide quality support and services to the individuals we serve.
