At A Different World Services, our mission is to provide exceptional care and support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to live their lives to the fullest. Our programs are designed to support individuals in building essential life skills, navigating their own homes, managing finances, and making personal choices, all within safe, well-equipped environments that reflect their tastes and preferences.

From group outings and volunteer work to local partnerships, we create opportunities for our residents to connect meaningfully with the world around them, promoting self-confidence and a sense of belonging.

For individuals who may find traditional communication challenging, we provide innovative, therapeutic outlets through art, music, and gaming. Our partnership with George Washington University for art therapy, along with our in-house music studio, offers residents powerful ways to express themselves, process emotions, and explore creativity. We believe in the value of every voice and offer multiple avenues for individuals to share their unique perspectives.

Respect and Dignity in Behavioral Support

We are committed to maintaining a humane and compassionate approach in our behavior support programs. Understanding and respecting each individual’s triggers and challenges, we collaborate with families and caregivers to craft supportive strategies.
